VAILO Chief Executive Officer and Founder Aaron Hickmann has been named the state’s top young entrepreneur in the fourth annual 40 Under 40 awards run by InDaily.
More than 350 guests attended the awards at the Adelaide Convention Centre to recognise the passion, vision and achievements of South Australia’s young entrepreneurs and business leaders.
An independent judging panel representing the state’s business industry, named Mr Hickmann as the William Buck Entrepreneur Award recipient for his creative approach to expanding his company and developing industry-leading LED lighting systems.
Over the past decade, VAILO’s LED lights have lit up spaces across South Australia and shone through buildings as large as the Titanium Security Arena.
The company’s technology has pushed into fields spanning transport and sport, VAILO partnering with businesses and events like the upcoming Illuminate Adelaide winter festival celebrating innovation, music, art, light, and technology.
Hickmann also was recognised for investing in VAILO’s new multi-million-dollar facility and redevelopment in Kent Town with surface mounting technology production line, semi-autonomous production robotics and eight metal and carbon-fibre composite printers for 3D printing.
The 40 Under 40 Awards celebrate how South Australia’s finest young business people are shaping the future of our state.
Each award recognises the personal determination and commercial drive of these leaders but also the philanthropic pursuits that balance these individuals’ professional achievements.
The 40 Under 40 work across industries and sectors, from startups to large corporations, and they are united in their passion for South Australia.
