VAILO Adelaide 500 Motorsport Event

Tickets released for anticipated return of 2022 VAILO Adelaide 500

The countdown is on to the return of the VAILO Adelaide 500, with tickets to the 2022 event now on sale and frozen at 2012 prices in response to the increased cost of living.

A host of announcements were made at the iconic event’s official launch today including local South Australian advanced technology manufacturer VAILO on-board as the new naming-rights partner.

The season finale of the Repco Supercars Championship will showcase world-class motorsport categories and an enviable after-race concert series with US rock band THE KILLERS confirmed to headline on Sunday night.

The Hon. Premier of South Australia Mr Peter Malinauskas said: “This really is a star-studded list of local, national and global musical acts to mark the return of the VAILO Adelaide 500.

“And the best bit is South Australians can experience all of this for the same price as it was a decade ago.

“I can’t wait for the VAILO Adelaide 500 to return to our city streets, bringing with it hundreds of jobs, thousands of visitors and millions of dollars’ worth of economic activity.”

VAILO CEO and Founder Aaron Hickmann said: “At VAILO, we’re passionate about motorsport and we couldn’t be more excited to be the naming rights sponsor of the VAILO Adelaide 500.

“We support the South Australian Government bringing back the VAILO Adelaide 500 just as we’re bringing back advanced manufacturing.”

“Just as motorsport is a high-performance team sport, VAILO produces high-performance products and emphasises valuing team like family.”

The return of the much-loved event is boosted by a plethora of on-track racing categories, with the Repco Supercars Championship to be supported by the popular Dunlop Super2

Series, Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS, Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters and the S5000 Tasman Series.

To complement the on-track motorsport categories, Airtime FMX and the Hot Wheels Stunt Team will thrill fans in the event precinct with their breath-taking stunts in all-new shows.

South Australian Motor Sport Chief Executive Mark Warren said: “We have worked hard to craft a ticketing package which is as affordable as possible.

“This year’s VAILO Adelaide 500 is going to be something special and cutting ticket prices means even more people will be able to see it.

“We are investing in various initiatives to improve the fan experience and racing, including the track resurfacing. This will see improved grip, tyre degradation and more overtaking and strategy for teams.”

Supercars Hall of Famer and racing legend Mark Skaife said: “The world class line-up is testament to the quality and popularity of this event.

“The Adelaide Street Circuit is an iconic track and it’s fantastic to see the Repco Supercars Championship back in Adelaide to close out our season.

“The organisers are working hard to bring four days of adrenalin-filled action for the motorsport fans of South Australia and once again staging one of our most popular signature events.”

In addition to US rock band THE KILLERS confirmed to headline the Sunday night concert, Australian rock royalty JIMMY BARNES and Australian icon ICEHOUSE, plus the reformation of NOISEWORKS will be on show on Saturday night.

Friday night will see LIME CORDIALE and THE PRESETS with hip-hop star BAKER BOY and local rock act TEENAGE JOANS.

Six local acts will also be announced soon to join the huge line-up of artists as part of the MusicSA Bands on Track incentive.

Adelaide will also play host to the Repco Supercars Championship Gala, the night of nights for the motorsport fraternity, following the season finale.

The VAILO Adelaide 500 will take place from 1 – 4 December 2022. Tickets for the Repco Supercars Championship season finale are now on sale via Ticketek.
