Mary Lee Park (opposite Plant 4 Bowden), also known as Park 27B, in the renowned parklands surrounding the city of Adelaide, recently received a major lighting upgrade, transitioning from metal halide to advanced LED technology.
This project was initiated to enhance lighting quality, significantly improving visibility and usability, particularly for the West Adelaide Soccer Club’s junior teams during night-time activities.
The client had a unique requirement for 4000K luminaires, a specification that set this upgrade apart from typical installations. CME, the project lead, was awarded the tender and utilised VAILO luminaires to meet these specifications.
Eight new 32-metre poles each equipped with 18 VAILO luminaires were installed as stage 1 of the project, designed to provide optimal lighting across the park’s four soccer pitches, including two full-size and two junior pitches. An additional 14 luminaires are to be installed as stage 2 in the future.
The new lighting system is expected to be used at least four times a week, primarily for evening training sessions, greatly enhancing the park’s evening utility.
