In early 2024, New Era Stadium in Cabramatta, Sydney’s South West, underwent an upgrade, transitioning from metal halide lights to VAILO LEDs.

REES Electrical completed the retrofit by installing 16 VAILO 1,500 watt Zenith Gen-V luminaires on the existing four light poles, replacing the previous 48 1,000 watt metal halide lights.

The switch to VAILO LEDs is expected to result in approximately 50% savings on the stadium’s annual electricity bill, as the new lights consume less power while providing better light output.

Primarily used for rugby league matches, the stadium now operates at 200 lux, meeting the standards for semi-professional rugby league matches to be played at night.

The recent light upgrade at New Era Stadium in Cabramatta has been nothing short of transformative. Gone are the days of the old eyesore lighting fixtures that barely illuminated our fields.

Thanks to VAILO’s LED lights, not only have we seen a significant improvement in brightness, but we’ve also experienced considerable cost savings.

The new lights provide a level of illumination that allows us to train effectively, even during evening sessions. They have truly enhanced the overall experience for our players and spectators alike.
