VAILO played a pivotal role in the Dragway at The Bend project by providing the lights and screens for the venue.

A total of 251 Zenith Gen-V 1500W luminaires were strategically installed across the ¼ mile dragway, return track, and associated staging area with a race day experience DMX control system, ensuring exceptional lighting coverage throughout the facility.

VAILO collaborated with Ingal EPS, who manufactured the poles with customised headframes for the luminaires. Following a request from the customer, both the luminaire and the pole were coloured in a bespoke woodland grey powder coating.

The customer selected over 270 square metres of VAILO super screens for the venue, spread over ten displays ranging in size. These were installed through the building and the side of the track.

Given VAILO’s strong affiliation with motorsport and Peregrine Corporation’s commitment to utilising locally sourced materials, VAILO was approached to design the lighting and screen system and provide a comprehensive quotation for the dragway. The client’s objective was to have the world’s finest sports lighting for what they aspired to be the “world’s best dragstrip.”

Throughout the design process, VAILO collaborated closely with the client, working together to bring their vision to life. VAILO created renders and visual representations to vividly illustrate how the lighting system would enhance the dragway’s aesthetics and functionality.

To facilitate the project, VAILO used an undercover fabrication area at the Monarto Innovation Precinct for early works, allowing efficient and timely services to the client.

The work that VAILO has done on the Dragway at The Bend will further enhance the reputation of The Bend as a world class venue. It has been great to work with VAILO on this significant project for South Australia.
